First Day on the Job

Daedalous put his car into park outside the office building of his new job and took a few deep breaths before turning off the ignition.
The red-winged blackbird was a little nervous about starting the new job, but frankly, he just wanted to stay in the car for a little longer. He’d just gotten the A/C repaired and it was blasting out calming, cool air.
And did he need it, too. Daedalous looked at the outside temperature indicator. 81 degrees.
At 8 in the morning. This was already a hot one, and it was only gonna get steamier. The bird sighed, grabbed the key out of the ignition, and got out of the car.
On the bright side, he’d managed to park on the street, less than a block from his new office building. It was a little surprising there weren’t more cars occupying the clearly-marked street parking today, but hey, he wasn’t gonna complain. Daed stood in front of the large glass doors and looked up at his new place of employment. It had to be 30 or 35 stories tall — easily among the tallest buildings in the downtown area. The floor-to-ceiling windows were in immaculate condition, with thin layers of gray metal interspersed between each floor. The real eye-catcher was the enormous circular logo, emblazoned in silver, halfway up the structure. It had to be at least 50 feet in diameter. The blackbird had seen the building in pictures, but seeing it in person was still impressive enough to make him whistle.
Daed checked his watch. 8:03. He was supposed to meet his new supervisor at 8:45, but the lack of traffic and surprisingly abundant parking downtown meant that he arrived even earlier than he intended. How to kill half an hour? Daed wondered. He looked down the street for a few moments, and a glint of green caught his eye two blocks away. Ah, a Starbeaks. Better than risking the office coffee on day 1, right? The blackbird locked his car and began the short walk to the coffee shop, grateful that the sun was still low enough that he could stay in the shadows of the buildings.
A blast of chilly air ruffled his feathers as he opened the door to the coffee shop. He got in line behind an alpaca woman who was engrossed in her phone. In front of them, a bat was chatting with the bearista as he rang up their order. “Big day today,” the bat was saying.
“Haha, yeah, very big,” the ursine replied. “Should be good for business. You gonna come back down to catch him?”
“Maybe, it’s always fun but I’ve seen it plenty of times already. Could really use the sleep instead. Oh, that reminds me, remember to make that decaf, thanks.”
“Way ahead of you. We’ll have that right out. Next? What can I get for you, ma’am?”
Daed pulled out his phone while he waited for the alpaca to order. He hadn’t heard of any big events going on in town today, but he had only just moved to the city over the weekend. He pulled up the website of the local newspaper and quickly scanned the headlines. There didn’t seem to be any event previews or major stories that fit the conversation he just overheard. A brief search of Twitter didn’t yield any results, either.
“What can I get for you, sir?” The smiling bearista brought Daed back to attention.
“Oh, uh, just a medium black coffee, thanks.”
“Sticking with hot coffee on a day like today? No problem, anything else?”
“Yeah, I don’t go much for iced coffee,” Daed said. “And actually, yeah, I wanted to ask — I just moved here. Is there something big going on around here today?”
“Oh!” The bear’s eyebrows raised. “Oh, you’re in for quite a day. If you’re working downtown, you won’t be able to miss it. Here you go!” He put a lid on the coffee cup and handed it to the blackbird. Then he winked. “Look up what a macro is if you don’t want to be surprised.”
“Uh, thanks,” Daed answered, his mind suddenly racing as he turned to leave the store. He most certainly did know what a macro was. He’d spent countless hours on websites exploring size difference content, imagining what it would be like for there to be macros in real life... giant monsters capable of demolishing cities, flattening anything in their path... and if a small bird happened to catch their attention, easily forcing them into submission under one of their heavy paws... making them serve as a toy just for their own pleasure... his heart fluttered a bit.
Still, macros weren’t real. And even if those monsters did exist, there’s no way the people in the coffee shop would be that excited about them. No, the bear was probably talking about something else. Maybe a parade of some sort, with big floats. Daedalous shook his head and took a sip of coffee. The most important thing today was staying focused and making a good first impression.
He returned to the office building still 20 minutes early, and with his new manager still nowhere in sight, a receptionist at the front desk told him he could take a seat in the lobby. The blackbird leaned back in a well-cushioned chair, head spinning with thoughts about how his first day at the job was going to go — including one more outlandish possibility that he would have never considered fifteen minutes ago. He absentmindedly grabbed his phone and pulled up one of his favorite size websites to peruse new art of enormous feet, only catching himself once a picture of huge bird feet filled his screen.
Daed quickly closed the site and shut his phone off, his face flushed. At least nobody saw it, unless... he casually looked up over his shoulder to see if there was a security camera in the corner.
There was. Daed shuddered with embarrassment, hoping nobody would be able to make out what he was browsing if they had happened to glance at the camera feed.
He was kept from dwelling too long on his highly-unlikely-but-still-plausible shame by the arrival of a tall snow leopard the building’s glass doors. His new boss. The snow leopard took off his sunglasses and gestured toward the blackbird. “Daedalous, right? I’m Ty. Good to meet you, welcome to Darkwood Construction!”
Daed shook his hand. “Great to finally see you in person! Although I think I might be a little overdressed, haha.”
The blackbird was dressed in a suit and tie, wanting to make a good first impression. But the snow leopard — who couldn’t have been much older, maybe in his early 30s — was dressed casually, in a fashionable shirt and smart pair of shorts. “Yeah, this is a pretty chill workplace, don’t worry about it too much,” the cat said. Then he hooked a furry thumb back over his shoulder. “Hey, by the way, is that your car parked down the block?”
“Yeah, I didn’t have a parking pass for the company garage yet. Can I not park out there?”
Daed asked, worried he’d already gotten a ticket on his first day in town.
“Well, you can park there, but it might not be the wisest thing today. Come on, I can get you parked in the garage.”
The garage was underneath the office building itself, and was already pretty full with cars by the time Daed was able to enter. After circling through a few floors, he was able to locate a spot between two larger vehicles and squeezed in. Ty showed him to the elevator. “It’s a long way up,” he cautioned as he led the blackbird onto the lift. “But you shouldn’t mind heights, you’re a bird, right?” The cat laughed and poked the 28 button.
“How was the move? Everything go smoothly?” the leopard asked as the pair took the long elevator trip up to the 28th floor.
“Yeah, no problems. Still a lot of unboxing to do, but no complaints.”
The elevator dinged and the doors slid open. “Nice, glad to hear it,” the cat said, leading Daedalous out of the elevator. “Just around the corner here, and a bit down the hall, and your new office should be on the left.”
“Wait, I get an office? I just figured I’d have a cubicle or something.”
Ty laughed. “Darkwood Construction has some pretty lucrative deals. But hey, you’re in the accounting department, so you’ll find out about all of that soon. Here we are!” The leopard gestured to an open door.
OK, so it wasn’t the nicest office — no windows, and it was completely empty save for a desk, chair, phone, and a laptop. But hey, it was an office nonetheless, and the laptop looked like it was top-of-the-line. Daedalous had certainly worked in far more cramped areas before, so this was a definite upgrade.
“Why don’t you set your stuff down, and I’ll give you a tour of the rest of the building? You can probably leave your suit jacket here, too” the snow leopard said. Daed stashed his bag below the desk, draped his jacket over the chair and turned to give his new workspace one more look before following Ty out of the room.
“So this floor is all finances?” the blackbird asked.
“Yep! And up here on the corner is my office, so if you ever need anything, don’t be afraid to poke your head in and say hi. Darkwood Construction is all about collaboration, honestly. We love it when colleagues poke their heads in with a problem we can take care of. Speaking of,” Ty said, leading Daed to the next office down, “looks like Jim’s door is open, let’s say hi. Hey Jim!
This is Daed, the new guy.”
An older wolf with glasses grunted and gave a quick wave back, not taking his eyes off his computer screen.
“Jim doesn’t say much, but he’s great once you get to know him,” the snow leopard said, carrying on with the tour. “Let’s see, this is Trish’s office, next door is Kim — she got here just a few weeks ago, so you two are the newbies—”
Daed was starting to zone out. It was a lot of names and faces to take in all at once. Before he knew it, he’d met the entire department and he was back at the elevator bank. He estimated he’d remember maybe two of the names by the end of the week.
Truthfully, his mind was drifting back to the idea of macros again. Daed had never worked in an office this far up before, or really anywhere higher than two or three floors. What would a macro look like from way up here? Would this be higher than the height of the giant themselves?
How much of a birds-eye view could you get of the macro crunching through the surrounding city, crumbling smaller buildings underfoot?
...What if a macro spotted him? Spotted a tiny red-winged blackbird pressed up against the building’s pristine glass in awe, smashed through the window with a thick, meaty finger and grabbed him to use as a plaything, maybe for their tongue or their foot or even somewhere... lewder?
The ding of the elevator snapped the blackbird out of his daydreams. “...so most of the floors above us are for the executives, I’m sure you’ll get a chance to meet them later,” Ty was saying, casually waving his furred hand around as he stepped onto the elevator. “Oh, and legal is up there too. But hopefully you’ll never have to meet them, right?” he laughed, giving Daed a playful elbow.
Daed laughed too, more from playing along than anything else. “So, where are we going next?” the blackbird asked, hoping for something interesting to keep his mind from wandering.
“Well, we’ve got F.R. on the floor right below us, so it makes sense to stop here first,” Ty said, the elevator doors already opening again. “Our furry resources team is great, they’re gonna get you all hooked up with an ID badge and a parking pass and whatever else you’ll need. We’ll need you to sign some waivers, too. Oh, say hi to Riley—”
It went on like that for the next few hours, Ty leading an indefatigable tour of the office building while Daed tried as hard as he could to remember everything and prevent enormous paws from intruding on his thoughts. It seemed like the snow leopard got on with everyone and had boundless energy to rope people into introductory conversations.
The blackbird was grateful to have that sort of guide, but compared to the feline, he was quickly losing steam. So it came as a relief when they stepped into the elevator for the umpteenth time and Ty said “Let’s head down to the break room. Or really, it’s a few break floors , you’ll see when we get down there. That’s the last stop, and then we can grab some lunch.” He poked the number 15.
“So what else is in the building below the 15th floor, then?” Daed asked.
“We’ve actually got some other businesses that rent those lower floors out as tenants. It’s surprisingly desirable office space down there — got a better view than you’d think.”
Daed was a little confused — most of the buildings in this part of downtown were at least 10 stories tall — but his brain was too fried to figure out how that could be true. The elevator came to a stop and they stepped off.
“If you ever need to let off some steam, just pop down here for a bit,” Ty said. “We know that sometimes our work gets pretty hard, so it’s important to have somewhere to relieve stress. If you’re working hard, we want you to be enjoying your breaks just as hard.
“We’ve got a couple game rooms over here on the right side of the hall,” the snow leopard continued, “and over here we’ve got a company gym. You can use that whenever, or we’ve got some scheduled exercise classes you can sign up for, too. I do one of the yoga ones — big cats like me gotta stay flexible, you know?” he winked.
Daed laughed, but he was mostly impressed with how nice the area was. Despite how high-energy most of the company seemed to be, there were some quiet rooms and mediation pods on another floor for people who needed some time away from the hustle and bustle of work. And there was a sprawling dining area, with meal options provided on-site. He could tell this company knew how to take care of its employees.
Then they turned the corner and Daed couldn’t help but gasp. “This,” Ty said with a flourish, “is my favorite part of the building.” It was the part of the building behind the grand circular logo on the front. The base of the emblem — the very bottom of the circle — was attached to the windows, just slightly above floor level. Daed looked up and realized the ceiling in this area had been raised to match the top of the logo, five or six stories up. The windows spanned the entire distance, floor-to-ceiling, and provided an immaculate view of the city.
The area inside was spacious. There had to be at least a football field’s length from the windows to the back wall, and the only thing the blackbird could see between them was a cart with stacks of colorful towels and a hole — maybe some sort of drain — positioned near the center of the room. Would there be sprinklers going off? Maybe this area turned into some sort of indoor water party or something.
“Should be any minute now,” Ty said, checking his smartwatch. Daed noticed the room was beginning to fill up with coworkers milling about, chattering excitedly. He couldn’t help but notice that some of them were barely dressed, like — wait, was that Jim, the older wolf from accounting, with his shirt off? Daed looked up to see Ty casually removing his shirt as well to reveal a lanky, athletic frame.
“Any minute until what?” Daed asked. “Why’s everyone taking their shirts off?”
Ty noticed his surprise. “Wait, did nobody tell you? It was on one of the waivers you signed.
Oh, you’re in for a treat. You’ll probably want to strip down, too. At some point, you’ll see why.”
Daed racked his brain, trying to remember what was in all the paperwork he signed. He seemed to recall something about corporate culture and team-building or whatever but his eyes had long since glazed over by that point.
The area kept filling up with coworkers of all species and sizes, some clad in nothing but their underwear. Nobody was acting like this was anything but ordinary. To Daed, it was so weird that he felt like he might be having a panic attack — the room was shaking and everything.
Wait, was the room actually shaking?
There was a commotion by the windows to the left of the giant circular logo, and Daed turned to see a small group of people gathering and pointing at something in the distance. Daed worked his way toward the window until he could finally get a good view at what prompted their reaction... and his jaw dropped.
There, off in the distance, but unmistakably moving toward the city, was an enormous dark figure. Each step the figure took reverberated around the room moments later, like the rumbling of thunder after a distant lightning strike.
As it moved closer, Daed could make out more of the figure’s shape — a blue head, with sunlight glinting off a golden beak. A gray mane of feathers around its neck, leading down to a muscular body, black all the way down to the glimmering talons that Daed could only see when they were lifted to clear a low-lying structure.
It was a colossal bird, rumbling into the heart of downtown.
It was the sort of thing Daed had dreamed of. It was also, seeing it up close for the first time, absolutely terrifying.
Sure, the idea of pleasuring an enormous macro was a fun fantasy, but this was real life.
Daed didn’t want to die today. He couldn’t understand why everyone seemed so excited. Did they have a death wish? The blackbird stumbled backward, away from the window, until he felt two firm hands land on his shoulders.
“Surprised?” Ty said. “I don’t blame you. He can be a lot to take in at first. But don’t worry, you have nothing to be afraid of. He’s a friend of ours. A partner, really.”
“That... but he’s... how?” Daed stuttered.
“Daed, we’re a construction company. How do you think we grew to be so profitable? I told you we have some lucrative deals, and this guy’s our biggest partner. We help him out, and he makes sure there’s always plenty of projects for us to take care of. And that no potential competitors ever get off the ground.”
“But what could you possibly do to help a macro out?”
“Heh, you’ll see,” Ty smirked. “I have a feeling you’ll be into it.” The snow leopard wagged his phone in front of the blackbird. On it was Daed’s profile from one of the size websites he frequented.
“How did you— was it the cameras? That’s—” he stammered before Ty quickly cut him off.
“Most of the company’s on this site,” Ty explained. “That’s actually where we do most of our recruiting. We think it’s important to find employees who are... enthusiastic about making our partners happy. So don’t worry about a thing, just enjoy the show. It’ll be fun.”
Daedalous nodded. He turned back to the window and experienced another jolt of fear when he realized how much closer the macro bird had gotten during their conversation. But his fear melted into arousal the more he looked at the colossus walking down the street towards the building.
Daed didn’t even need to be near the window to get a good view of what was happening now. The macro was still more than a dozen blocks away, but he was big enough to be able to close that distance in a matter of moments. Based on the surrounding buildings, Daed estimated the macro was several hundred feet tall — probably about the same height as the Darkwood Construction building, if not a bit taller.
Daed could now make out the enormous bird’s tail feathers spread out behind him, mostly blue with a golden fringe. A row of blue and gold feathers also sprouted from the behemoth’s wrists all the way up to his elbows. The mane and arm feathers were certainly unusual, as were the colors, but the shape of the bird’s head seemed to indicate that he was a massive bald eagle.
But the parts that really caught Daed’s eye were hanging between the titan’s legs. Two massive black wrecking balls swung with impunity with every step the macro took, swaying in a way that suggested exceptional heft. A girthy black cock hung semi-erect over them. Daed had no idea how long it would get when fully erect, but he had a feeling he was about to find out.
The red-winged blackbird could feel his own erection throbbing inside his pants as he watched the colossus in awe. If he was able to take his eyes off of him, he’d see that many of his coworkers were also pitching tents. But he was captivated with the macro, focused intently on each individual step of the eagle’s thick, taloned feet as they crashed down with thunderous force and caused the city to shake violently around him. He was now so close that Daed could see the enormous beads of sweat forming all over the macro’s body in response to the sweltering heat.
Without realizing what he was doing, Daed stripped off his shirt and pants, as if hypnotized by the allure of the gigantic eagle.
Something made the macro stop and look down, a grin spreading across his beak. Daed followed his gaze downward and realized that a solitary luxury car was parked right in the eagle’s path, a few blocks from the office building.
Oh, that’s why nobody was using street parking today, Daed thought. Glad I moved my car.
The titan’s foot slowly pressed down on the vehicle with an unmistakable crunch, clearly taking pleasure in grinding it all the way into the pavement. When the foot lifted off the ground again, the car was nowhere to be seen — until the flattened chassis slowly became unstuck from the eagle’s sole and fell back to the ground.
It would be only a couple more seconds before the macro would reach the Darkwood Construction building, and Daed realized with an excited shudder that the huge bird’s hardening dick would be at just about the same level as the floor they were on.
BRAAAYNK. BRAAAYNK. BRAAAYNK.
An ear-piercing alarm blasted three times, and all of Daed’s coworkers scurried away from the center of the windows. A loud whirring sound filled Daed’s ears and he realized the large circular logo emblazoned on the front of the building was separating in two, each half retracting laterally away and leaving a gaping, circular hole in their stead.
Daed, now standing alone in front of where the emblem once was and not knowing what to do, was immediately hit with a blast of hot air. Then he was hit with something else: a whiff of overpowering musk from the colossal eagle. Daed instinctively closed his eyes and inhaled. The aroma mixed with the incoming warm air and hung heavy throughout the room. Daed found the result absolutely heavenly, becoming so enamored that he didn’t think to move until it was too late.
The macro swung his hips around in front of the building and aligned his dick with the circular entryway, gradually inserting it in the hole. It filled the diameter of the opening, fitting snugly inside. The eagle’s satisfied rumble overhead suggested that it was just a tight enough fit.
Daed opened his eyes. Where he last saw an open view of the surrounding city, now he only saw a massive black cock bearing down on him. He was paralyzed by fear, by shock, and most of all by arousal, as he gazed up at the five-story cock pushing its way into the building. He could see deep into the urethra, the opening itself large enough to easily fit an entire person.
The macro’s musk grew even stronger, filling the rest of the room. So, too, did the dick. The smaller bird stumbled backward as the gigantic eagle gradually inserted himself deeper into the building. It kept coming farther and farther in and Daed scrambled farther and farther back until he turned around to see if he was about to run into the back wall. The blackbird’s legs tangled up underneath him and fell to the ground, just in front of the back wall.
Daed gazed up at the looming macro dick in a mix of fear and awe as it pushed closer, the tip of it pressing up against his feet and then up onto his waist and chest, threatening to completely smother him underneath if it went any farther... but it didn’t. Daed breathed a sigh of relief.
But he wasn’t completely safe, either. The blackbird was still pinned beneath a dick the size of a building, and probably making quite the first impression on many of his coworkers. He could move his arms and head, but his torso and legs were firmly stuck and wouldn’t budge — not that he was sure he wanted them to, as the eagle’s potent scent overwhelmed his nostrils.
So he just kind of... laid there for a few moments. He could hear the other people in the room murmuring, confused, wondering what he was going to do next. Daed didn’t know either and was growing more self-conscious by the second.
There was a loud tapping sound on the window far above him. Daed could make out an enormous black finger rapping impatiently on the glass, even the gentle action exerting so much force that part of the window actually shattered.
“Well, Daedalous, aren’t you going to say hello?” he heard Ty say behind him. The snow leopard stepped up and gave the massive cock head a smooch, then rubbed it affectionately. “Go on, feel free, give it a lick. It won’t bite.”
The tiny blackbird hesitantly extended his tongue and licked the eagle’s gigantic tip. It actually tasted... kinda nice? He licked it again, and again, more eagerly now. Even at such a relatively small size, he was apparently doing something right, because he could hear the macro outside purr with contentment at his stimulation.
“Come on, guys, are you just gonna let the new guy have all the fun?” Ty asked. “Let’s not keep our biggest partner waiting.” The rest of the room sprang into action, rushing in to surround the macro’s titanic member. The professional workplace Daed walked into a few hours ago turned into an orgy of furs kissing, rubbing and licking a five-story eagle cock. Some had lost their clothes completely, grinding their own genitals up against the throbbing interloper. The grumpy older wolf from earlier had clambered to the top of the dick with surprisingly youthful exuberance and was now stroking himself off as he rode it.
The sight was enough to make Daed drop any professional pretenses and lose himself in his fantasy come true. He inhaled deeply and fully submitted himself to the pleasure of the colossal eagle. He could feel every single twitch of the massive member reverberate through his body, causing his own erection to grow harder than it ever had before, straining against his underwear until the tip was poking out the top. The blackbird had no control over his actions anymore; he had fully given in to being a toy for the macro, sloppily licking and huffing the giant dick with no regard for anything else.
The macro eagle seemed content for now to let the tiny furs worship his cock while only occasionally moving it around slightly, as needed. The consistent rumbles of pleasure escaping his beak were enough to suggest they were doing an excellent job. So, too, were the dribbles of precum that were beginning to leak from his dick.
Of course, while it only seemed like dribbles to the macro, to Daed, it was more like a heavy stream or waterfall, and he was directly at the base of it. He was inundated with the stuff, and it just kept pouring out of the massive hole above him. He gulped it down eagerly, loving the warm, salty-sweet taste. It quickly drenched his feathers, leaving the little bird a soggy, squirming mess underneath the titan’s heavy tip.
After some time, the macro finally decided to take control, giving a courtesy tap on one of the other windows to warn the tiny furs riding the top of his shaft that now was the time to safely disembark. They slid off carefully, caught by some of their coworkers, who clearly had experience with this sort of thing.
The rest of the employees continued to give affection to the eagle’s cock as he slowly withdrew it... with the tiny blackbird in tow.
Even though he was still pinned under the massive dick, he was so thoroughly doused with the eagle’s natural lubricant that he easily slid along the floor with the member without any pain or discomfort.
Oh god, a macro eagle is actually using me as his sex toy, Daed thought. He was in heaven. An hour ago, he thought macros were just a fantasy. Now, he was smushed helplessly underneath one.
Gradually, the titan began to thrust, slowly at first before picking up speed. Daed clung on to the tip as best he could, completely overwhelmed with pleasure. His sole purpose now was to bring satisfaction to the macro. He was nothing more than a plaything that was just there to be used, and the eagle was most definitely using him.
The giant picked up speed, thrusting fast and hard into the building with little care for anything else, his massive nuts slamming into the reinforced windows on the floors below. Daed’s whole world was spinning — he was completely lost in the sensations and just barely hanging on to the macro’s dick.
The blackbird felt his own dick, which had been frotting against its far, far larger counterpart, reach its limit and then blow right past it into an unstoppable climax, launching his own seed all over his black chest feathers. The small bird reflexively let go of the macro’s tip as he succumbed to one of the most powerful orgasms he’d ever felt.
At the same time, the titan gave one final thrust into the building, sending the tiny bird sliding toward the back wall. Daed opened his eyes just in time to see the macro cock’s opening expand and launch a massive white rope of eagle cum directly at him, splattering all over the blackbird.
Before Daed could react, that first rope became a steady stream of macro bird jizz, covering the overwhelmed blackbird from head to talon in the thick, hot substance. He couldn’t see anything anymore, but he could certainly hear the eagle roar with satisfaction, loud enough to make the building shake even more.
The macro’s orgasm continued like that for nearly an entire minute, covering not just the blackbird but nearly the entire back wall, too. Daed had a feeling he was going to be a sticky mess for a long while. It was going to take many, many showers to get him back to normal, and the scent of the eagle’s cum could linger for days.
Finally, the huge bird’s orgasm began to taper off, and the giant withdrew his dick from the building, letting the last bits of cum pour down into a large puddle in front of the building’s entrance.
Daed coughed and sputtered, the blackbird now entirely white. Sprinklers had begun to spray water down from the ceiling, helping wash the eagle’s emissions down the large drain in the center of the room. Daed felt a towel land on his prone chest. Once he used it to wipe out his eyes, he could make it a snow leopard standing over him, grinning. “So, how did you like your first day on the job?” Ty asked.
“I— ah... ah... I loved it,” Daedalous said, still catching his breath.
“Excellent. So did he,” Ty said, gesturing out the window.
The eagle had crouched down and was now looking directly at Daedalous with a mischievous grin. He winked at the soaked bird and then stood back up and turned away from the building. The giant lifted one foot high above the city, then brought it down with a deafening crash on a three-story building one block over, decimating it with a single step. Daed could make out a smirk on the eagle’s beak as the macro departed the city, partnership fulfilled for another day.
“Something tells me we’re going to have a new client reaching out to us in a couple minutes,” Ty said. “Don’t worry, we work very efficiently — that place’ll be be back up and running within a week. And the business brought in by the macro-watchers makes it worth it for them.”
“How— how often does that happen?” Daed asked, still trying to process the past hour.
“At least once a week,” the snow leopard said. “He gives us some warning ahead of time, so people in the area know to evacuate and stay safe... or come down and watch the show,” Ty winked. “Considering he could flatten the entire city if he wanted to, I think it’s a pretty good deal for everyone involved.”
“I’ll say,” Daed breathed, hardly able to believe his luck. If this is what working at Darkwood Construction was going to be like, he couldn’t wait to come back. Or, more accurately, he couldn’t wait for the massive eagle to come back. There was no way he’d be able to think about anything else until then.
